Your next Universal Champion…Without a doubt!

"A Walk in the Park"

The camera slowly fades open. Pointing to the heavens it is clear that it is a dark and stormy night, I know that sounds cliché’ but stay with me. As the camera pans around the torrential rain fall makes it hard to see much of anything, but the camera stops on “Primetime” Paul Roberts who is standing not far from the camera wearing a black trench coat, unbuttoned, a black t shirt and jeans. Soaked from head to toe, standing in the rain without an umbrella Roberts begins to speak, as lightning and thunder go off in the distance.

Primetime: I know what your thinking…probably not the best night for a walk in the park. But you know what I beg to differ. You see this rain pouring down all around me sets the perfect mood for what I want to accomplish tonight. We are just days from Redemption, just days until I take my rightful place as Champion of this federation. Bobby Bishop knows just like everyone else that I am going to rip him limb from limb at Redemption, just like every person who has bought a ticket to Redemption Sunday night. Bobby Bishop doesn’t have the guts to come out and say anything before our match? Doesn’t want to give the people there moneys worth going into the Pay-Per-View? That just goes to show you that the only person Bobby Bishop thinks about is himself. I don’t think that Bishop deserves to be champion, and the fact that he is going to rip off every UWF fan out there just proves my point. Hell, I could care less if every person in that arena on Sunday night boos me or chants “Primetime Sucks” but I am going to make sure they get there moneys worth when the come to see a “Primetime” Paul Roberts match. Every time I get into the ring it is match of the year candidate, and that’s not brag its just fact.

Thunder blares in the background as Roberts begins to walk through the park.

Primetime: From time to time I find myself looking back on the past month or so and looking back to what has occurred. At Tidal Wave I told the entire UWF roster that they were on notice, that each and every member of the roster toes the line behind me! That it didn’t matter who won the Tournament that night, that whoever won would just be holding on to the title until I came for it, no matter how long it took management to give me the shot that I rightfully deserve. Now what the UWF fans in Freedom Hall got that night was a Universal Championship main event that saw Bobby Bishop win with a low blow after a man who we later found out was Renegade, came and interfered. If I was a fan who ordered that Pay-Per-View or saw it live in Freedom Hall I would have felt a little ripped off if they hadn’t gotten to see me that night. Lets face it, Bobby Bishop is a mid-card joke at best, and it was mix of luck and the talent that was in the tournament that made it possible for him to actually win that night. Like I said in the past following that week, I not only pinned the unlikely champion the week after the Pay-Per-View but then defeated the other man who was in the main event the week after. Undoubtedly proving that had I been in the tournament that night I would be standing here the Universal Champion right now.

Thunder cuts off Roberts and he pauses waiting for it to stop, the rain continues to pour down on top of the future Universal Champion but it does not seem to bother him one bit. It is raining so hard it makes it difficult to see anything other than Roberts walking though the dark and wet park, in Philadelphia. When the thunder dies down he begins again.

Primetime: As things progressed between myself and Bishop things appeared to get a littler personal between him and I. However I see it a different way, I don’t hate Bobby “The Beast” Bishop, I don’t have any personal or professional problems with him. He just merely got caught in the cross hairs. You see Bobby, this has NEVER been about you! This has always been about ME, and my legacy. I live my life day by day trying to further build my career into the greatest Hall of fame career that has ever happened, and the Universal Championship is just one of those steps on my way to the greatest Hall of Fame career of all time. It is unfortunate that you had to win the Universal Championship because now I have to end not only your rein as champion but your career as well. I can not with good conscience let you continue to have a wrestling career. When people tune into the UWF and see you on the screen it damages our sport’s credibility whether you have the Universal Championship belt or not. Just by seeing you in the ring hurts our product, and that is why I have to end your career this Sunday, so do us all a favor and after I am done kicking your ass all over Philadelphia just quit while you still can.

Thunder once again cuts off Roberts almost on cue as he pauses and waits for the noise to stop and then begins again.

Primetime: You know some people within the UWF have stated that when I first showed up on the scene I had “The Beast’s” number and constantly had the upper hand, and that just because he pinned me in a tag team match he somehow gained the upper hand. Let me remind the everyone in the UWF just how everything went down, I defeated Bobby Bishop cleanly I pinned him one two three in the middle of the ring. Then the next week, Renegade may have gotten involved in my match with Streets Wilson but Renegade attacked me just as he did Streets, I had no advantage in that win. So I defeated Streets cleanly as well. Then Bobby Bishop takes advantage of my own tag team partner hitting me with a steal chair and he somehow has gained the upper hand? At Redemption there will be no one to help him defeat me. No one to help him win as they did at Tidal Wave and two weeks ago at Heat Wave. That is the only way that man can win a match, is with some kind of help. Well rest assured that I am ready for anyone and anything to come out and help you steal a victory this Sunday at Redemption. Go ahead and bring Renegade, Al Smash, Alistair Creed, hell bring the entire roster if you want to, I will be ready for anything, you can not and will not defeat me this Sunday, and when it is all said and done I will be the Universal Champion…I guarantee it.

Thunder once again cuts off the King of Kings, when it quiets Roberts begins to speak again, he stops walking and stands in front of the camera.

Primetime: I am going to rap this up now because my camera man is whining that he is afraid he is going to get struck by lightning. From the second you won that title my friend the clock had been ticking away on your rein. It didn’t take long for the UWF management to take notice that I am indeed the most recognized face in primetime, the greatest wrestler who ever lived, the King of Kings. They not only wanted me in there main event, they NEEDED me in the main event! The UWF NEEDS “Primetime” Paul Roberts as the face of there organization! They knew they had to put me in the ring with you at the next Pay-Per-View to get the Universal title on a man who actually deserves to wear it. Bobby Bishop the clock has been ticking since the second you won the title, and the end is nearing. The King has arrived and now it is time that you too bow down, and sooner or later they all bow down to the king. Like they always say everything that has a beginning has an end. And yours is coming soon, much sooner than later.

Roberts smiles and walks off camera but as he moves it is reveled that he was standing in front of something, or more appropriately on top of something. As Roberts leaves the camera looks around and sees grave stones all around, revealing that we were not walking in the park at all, but in a grave yard. The camera pans back to were Roberts was standing and zooms way in to read the tombstone. As lightning and thunder blare off, with pouring rain bouncing off of the tombstone it reads “Hear lies Bobby Bishop, may he rest in piece. 3/09/08 – 4/13/08”. What is interesting is that the dates reference the length of his title rein. What is even more interesting is were Roberts was standing at the end of the promo, he was standing on the would be grave of Bobby “The Beast” Bishop.
