Last Sunday at Rumble proved to be a true test for the king of primetime. Azazel the giant monster was found to be more than even Paul could have imagined. Roberts put up a good fight but never, and I mean never has “Primetime” Paul Roberts ever been dominated the way that Azazel dominated Roberts. I true feather in the hat of Azazel to say that he went toe to toe with the great Paul Roberts and came out the other end smelling like a rose. Roberts got little to no offense in at all as the mammoth of a man took all the punishment “Primetime” good dish out and still stood up and beat down Roberts like a rag doll. No one knows for sure how the match would have ended had Brimstone not gotten involved and Roberts shown himself the door to let the two monsters have center stage for there circus show. But I think we all know were it was headed…yeah we all know that Paul Roberts would have over came all the odds and won the match forcing Azazel to submit, it’s a pretty forgone conclusion.
Never the less, Brimstone the hated rival of Azazel came down to the ring and got involved when he wasn’t wanted. He saw that Roberts had Azazel right were he wanted him and couldn’t stand the idea of another man defeating his hated rival. Roberts being the man that he is wanted to let the two giants have the spotlight to showcase there rivalry. The win matters very little to a legend like “Primetime”.
The scene opens just as Roberts crawled backstage through the curtain immediately following his match with Azazel. “Primetime” had just been counted out, and the match had ended with Azazel throwing a temper tantrum in the middle of the ring and then chasing after the man who would have defeated him had it not been for Brimstone getting involved. Just as the battered body of Roberts crawls through the curtain Chad Monie pops up from behind the curtain and leans down to help Roberts to his feet. Chad: Come on Paul time to go. Primetime: Chad…how do you do? Roberts says with a chuckle. Primetime: Sure was nice of me to let those two guys hog my spotlight don’t you think? Roberts continues as Monie is helping a limping Roberts down the hallway looking for Azazel to appear from behind the curtain at any moment they turn a corner headed for Roberts locker room. Chad: I’m sorry Paul I should have never let you go out there without backup. Primetime: Chad, come on I am the greatest wrestler alive I don’t need any back up. Chad: Yeah, well today you did. Azazel pretty much beat the hell out of the greatest wrestler alive tonight. Monie leads the worn out “Primetime” to his locker room and sits him down on the sofa and locks the door behind them. Primetime: Chad, seriously do you think I went too easy on that guy tonight? Chad: You were going easy on him? Primetime: Yeah, of course you know to give the fans a good show. Chad: That’s not what it looked like to everyone else out there. Primetime: What are you talking about? Chad: Azazel was kicking your ass all over the ring, like I have never seen before. Primetime: Where were you sitting? In the nose bleed section? I had that big oaf right were I wanted him when Brimstone came down and then I was like…ah oh well let the big man hog my spotlight the win doesn’t mean that much. Chad: Is that right? Primetime: Your damn right that’s right. Chad: Then why did you crawl away up the ramp away from the ring? Primetime: I didn’t have to, I did it so I wouldn’t attract attention to myself, again I don’t need to hog the spotlight seems were ever I go the camera cant help but follow me, I was merely hiding from the camera man. Chad: Take a look in the mirror Paul…do you ever remember looking like that after a match? Roberts turns and looks at himself in the mirror his bruised and battered face looked tattered, Roberts looks surprised at first then smiles arrogantly. Primetime: Well would you look at that, I am an even better actor than I thought I was. Chad: Your saying you were acting now? Primetime: Chad, clean the crap out of your ears! I was trying to give the fans a good show okay? So I turned up the illusion a little big deal! The guy was huge I wanted the fans to think he was kicking the crap out of me just to have me over come all the odds to defeat the monster. I do have a background in acting after all, am I the only one who remembers TV guide naming me the king of primetime? Chad: No I am sure everyone has not forgotten. Primetime: A few cuts a scrapes, big deal I took one for the team. Chad: What team? Primetime: ICWF! I am trying to get people to actually tune in and watch this show! And if that means I have to take a dive for half the match to give some fat piece of crap a shred of hope of winning well then that’s what I had to do tonight. Of course I don’t take dives in matches or intentionally lose I mean that would be stupid. Chad: But you got intentionally disqualified tonight. Primetime: Come on Chad, I got counted out! Some people can see the bigger picture, Azazel and Brimstone have been feuding for a long time giving them the stage was a much bigger plus then seeing me defeat yet another man. A count out loss is hardly the big deal here. Chad: I cant believe this. Primetime: Well believe it, because now I am done with Mr. smoke and mirrors and headed back to fight real contenders. But do me a favor and call the administrative offices. Tell them I am going to need the next week off. Chad: Why? Primetime: To heal up! I take it on the chin to try and boost ratings the least they can do is give me a week to heal my money making face back up. Chad: Right….I will give them a call. Primetime: Good, oh and Chad I am growing tired of playing around with the bottom feeders I think it is time that we start heading after some bigger fish don’t you? Chad: Right, bigger fish, I will be sure to let management know. Monie gets on his cell and immediately calls the offices of ICWF requesting the week off for Primetime. Oh and yes his request for “bigger fish” but one can only wait and see if his request is met. Did Paul take a dive during this match for the better of ratings? Roberts was being beaten from pillar to post by a monster of a man who seemed to have no mercy. Why would any man throw himself at the mercy of a beast for the betterment of anything? Did he take it easy on Azazel? Well one can only assume, only Paul Roberts knows for sure, and we all know how his story goes. Next up it’s a much needed week off for “Primetime” and I am sure we will all see him again next week.
