CANDLELIGHT VIGIL
FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE TYPHOONS IN THE PHILIPPINES
October 10, 2009
USA Bowl,
10920 Composite Drive,
Dallas, TX 75220

A candlelight vigil was held last October 10,at USA Bowl parking space to pray and remember those who have died and for those whose lives suffered the wrath of the back-to-back typhoons that struck the Philippines. The Filipinos, Americans and other Asians communities all came together and prayed that God may give the Filipinos enough courage to face the long road to recovery, enough grace to accept God's, and enough strength to sustain them despite the sadness surrounding them.

We also listened to gospel songs from local church choir, Tagalog songs from local talents and scripture readings by church leaders of different denominations. We have some important elected officials in attendance including Rep. Angie Chen Button, Addison Mayor Joe Chow, Frisco Mayor Maher Maso and Garland Mayor Ronald Jones who are supporting our effort to raise funds for our kababayans. There were quite a number of FilAms' who attended the vigil and showed their solidarity with our brothers in the Philippines.
