We are a non-profit, no kill animal rescue group started by people who have a special place in their hearts for the homless, abandoned, sick and unwanted animals. To promote humane education designed to increase awaremess, compassion and responsible pet owership. An all-volunteer group dedicated to rescuing, providing medical attention and unconditional love until placed in a permanent and well-educated home.

Happy Tails to Noah, our Katrina Dog!
Noah has been adopted by his foster mom and after five months of treatment is finally heartworm free. Noah has undergone a complete physical examination and x-ray imaging prior to his being nutered. During the exam the Vet found two tumors which turned out to be benign and to everyones surprise his hips are fine. Because Noah is still a bit unsteady with his rear legs the Vet believes Noah may have suffered some nerve damage But that certainly does not stop this 90 pound lap dog.
:-)

Needless to say his veterinary care was very expensive and this would not have been possible without the generosity of all the wonderful people who contributed. Thank you so much for extending your hearts and kind words for Noah who is now a healthy and happy family member.

Notes: BETTY is a sweet eight month old Tabby that was found abandoned in a trash can outside a vets office in Brooklyn. Fortunately she was rescued by two children with very big hearts who made certain that she found her way to us. BETTY is playful and affectionate. She likes people and other kitties too! Betty has never known the love of a forever-home. Won't you open your door and heart to this beautiful girl!

Notes: Miss Shelley is a 3 year old sheltie mix that came to us from an animal shelter. She so desperately needs a loving home. She has so much love to give the right person, however the right person MUST be a woman. We don't know her story but suspect she was in an abusive situation involving a man. When she is placed in a home she becomes overly protective of the woman. Therefore she needs to be in a home without men where she will be a very loving and loyal companion. Shellie is housebroken and perfectly behaved in the home. There are no indications of chewing or food aggression. She loves to go on leashed walks where she is very well behaved. She gets along well when in the company of other dogs. She likes to play with her toys and take long naps. She is an easy dog to care for if she is in the right home. Hopefully she will find her forever home soon, she is so very sweet and loving (to women) and really deserves a nice home. Miss Shellie exhibits no signs of of physical abuse.

Notes: Wally is a 7 month old male Broken Coated Jack Russell Terrier who is very smart, friendly, playful and energetic. Wally is a pet store rescue who was "bought" and then dumped after a month. He never had a chance to get house broken due to his short stay with his owners. However; he is an absolutely adorable K-9 with a good disposition who would be perfect for a very patient and high energy family. Wally gets along well with other dogs. Give Wally the T.L.C. he needs and deserves.

Call "Friends of the Animals" at 1-800-321-PETS for Low-Cost Spay/Neuter.

Care-A-Van

On Friday, September 21st, 2001 P.L.U.T.O. Rescue teamed up with the ASPCA Care-A-Van, a mobile Spay/Neuter Van. A total of 11 animals were spayed/neutered, 3 dogs and 8 cats. A donation of $25.00 is required for all animals that are to be spayed/neutered. This donation includes the Spay/Neuter surgery and a rabies vaccine.
This is a wonderful service provided by the ASPCA .

So many animals die on the street every day just because there are not enough homes for all of them. This over-population is attributed to the animals not being spayed or Neutered. With your help we can save some of these lives and all it takes is your pocket change: Pennies, Dimes, Quarters nickels or any amount that you can provide. With your assistance we can place them in good homes, help heal their wounds or simply save a life.
