PINE NEEDLER'S QUILT GUILD
General Meeting Minutes – October 16th, 2006
Call to Order:
President Mary Bruederle called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.
Judy Cozad led the Pledge of Allegiance.
There were 37 members present and 2 guests, Judy McKinnon and Sandra Stone.
Treasurer’s Report:
The Audit was completed by Deanna Small and Catherine Santa Maria.
Deanna reported that corrections were made to the August & September Treasurer’s Reports.
Committee Reports:
Block of the Month: Liz Mattingly presented next month’s block—“Tall Pines”.
Agnes Ludwig won last month’s “Boat” Blocks.
Library – The Guild will purchase another Book Cart.
We were given permission to use some space in the library closet.
Quilt Stroll – (June 9th, 2007) Sandy Smith said a walk through town will be done this
week to determine how many quilts we can hang & where.
Booths will be $25. We still need quilts and wall-hangings for the Stroll.
The date for the Park has been set. We need to pay for Permits.
Our Banner will be hung on the fence across from the Park.
Flyers will be mailed to Quilt Shops and Guilds from Sacramento to Fresno.
Liz Mattingly suggested putting an announcement in Magazines.
Community Service:
Judy Cozad requested more quilts for the Troops and pillowcases for the Tuolumne Trails (Baker’s) Kid’s Camp. She reported that two groups have already expressed interest in attending the Camp.

Lillian Cravens – Free-Motion Machine Embroidery;
Ann Laffin – Freezer Paper-Piecing;
Coline Simmons – Punch Needle.
Refreshments: Thanks to Darlene Arnold, Joyce Reitzen and Anita Millard for our goodies.
Show & Tell:
Liz Mattingly – Red & White Quilt (Dee Small quilted).
Sharron Wahman – “Pumpkin Patch” Wall-hanging.
Anita Millard – Santa Wall Hanging and Tree Skirt (from Bunny’s class).
Bernice Evora – Two Jackets (made in Julia Brook’s class); Blue & White Table-runner.
Sandy Smith – Blue/Yellow/White Quilt for injured CHP Officer.
Agnes Ludwig – Colorful Kid’s Camp Quilt.
Karen Davis – Showed her quilt made from “Bear Blocks” she won last month.
Jan Hatmaker – “Quilt Diva” quilt.
Julia Brooks – Halloween quilt.
Jan Sloan – Soldier quilt.
Chris Franz – Donated her hand-made Doll (named “Cher”) to the Cancer Hospital.
Catherine Santa-Maria – “Kitty-Kitty” quilt.
Irene Rhyne – “Egyptian” Jacket.
Lillian Cravens – “Jack-O’Lantern” quilt; Watercolor quilt (from her class).
Liz Mattingly – Watercolor quilt (from Lillian’s class).
Note: Correction on last month’s Show & Tell: Pat Helling (not Fran Fears)
showed the U.F.O. from Lisa Morales’ class.
Old Business:
Craft Faire – (Fri. & Sat. after Thanksgiving). Lillian Cravens needs volunteers.
Soldier Kits – Lillian Cravens reported that she mailed off 9 boxes.
New Business:
Mary Bruederle presented changing the name of the Guild from “
The Pine Needler’s Quilt Guild” to “Pine Needler’s Quilt Guild”.
All were in agreement.
Announcements:
Ann Laffin requested that everyone who took part in the
Christmas Fabric Exchange make 12-1/2” blocks
and bring them to the next meeting.
There will be a drawing, similar to the Block-of-the-Month.
Catherine Santa Maria announced that there will be a
Soroptimist “Personal Endeavor Day” Auction at
Pine Mtn Lake Country Club on November 28th.
Liz Mattingly announced that Country Heritage Tours
offers a Quilt-Shop tour in New England in the autumn.
Raffle Winners: Bernice Evora, June Ross, Julia Brooks, Judy Cozad,
Harriett Zaggas, Catherine Santa-Maria, Deanna Small, Irene Rhyne.
Total collected was $107.00.
