Report by Dannii Yamagata – Roxy Angel Music Publicist

When we first heard of Cherry Cordi, she was singing at a coffee shop in the Palm Springs Area. We had a chance to see how she will do at a Dance Club, it was a phenomenal experience.

She began singing at a very young age. Her dad was very into music and had been part of local groups back in the late 60’s and 70’s at Los Angeles where he went to college. Her mom was a female vocalist and a fashion design student. Both Jonathan and Sandra encouraged their daughter to pursue music by teaching her Piano and Guitar. By age 10, she was a pro on Bass, which is a rare thing to have under your belt at such a young age. During the age of 12, she was kidnapped by a hoodlum and was forced to do child pornography and other sexual favors. While incarcerated, she would find any piece of paper and write thoughts and poetry. Sadly, her kidnapper ripped up most of it thinking it was help letters. A couple escaped, one of them was Love me don’t hit me. She was saved by police in Escondido, and returned to her parents in the year 1996. With pity from the school district, they allowed her to advance to high school. In 1997 she started to attend Indio High where she would meet future founder and music mogul of Roxy Angel Music, Paul Angel. She would also meet her partner Virginia Sexon. She was part of the poet and GLBT scene in Palm Spring around the time that the Gay Community was on the rise of freedom and solace in power. She would from time to time hook up with Paul Angel and start to do music together. They were part of a band called the Glampires. Paul played keyboards, Cherry on the Bass, the pair would alternate. When graduation came, it was Paul’s turn to come out of the closet. At that time, cherry left to Europe before she would comfort him. In Europe she and Virginia would travel and live. She was part of the underground dance scene and made copies of demos of her songs that she did with Paul. In 2003, she got a number one hit in England and France with Love Me Don’t Hit Me. She built a following and was touring with the likes of Peaches, Milky, Kate Ryan and Galleon. During December of 2004, she returned to Palm Springs finding the place sort of different. She wanted to build a following in Palm Springs so she wanted to know about the music scene and the flawless Gay Entertainment. She contacted longtime friend Paul, finding that he was involved at the Gay Associated Youth as a Transsexual Performer. Also building up Roxy Angel Music and Paulaphone. By hearing her music, he signed Cherry as his first artist on Roxy Angel. She started to put together the material that she released in Europe on the Independent Vanity Label, Intergalactic Galaxy. Paulaphone bought out all rights and in 2006 is planning on releasing all material on her first release in the US, Sex Vixen.

Some material will be re-recorded with Paul, along with Virginia on Keyboards and Programming. So, I hope you enjoy her cd and It won’t be the only one. All at Roxy Angel feel that she is going to make an impact in the Dance/Trance world.

(Note: This is just a false story. No such person exist only in the mind of Paul Angel herself.)
