INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN AND PARENTS' WEEK ON EDUCATION 29th July – 5th August 2006 Gstaad – Switzerland Parents and children aged 5 to 14.Parents interested in Krishnamurti’s work participated in a week’s long study group on education,organised very well by Gisele. We stayed in a chalet together sharing the questions on education that are arising in daily living. Our intentions were: - to deepen the relationship with our children, - to get to know other parents who share our concern for an education which promotes real values like affection, joy and respect for life, - to look afresh at the environment in which we live and at our essential link with nature. We feel strongly that we should share with children our concern on issues like relationship, fear, imitation, the powerful influence of society, sexuality, pleasure, isolation and death – this needs to be explored with great sensitivity and respect. We do not want only to amuse or stimulate the children but we wish to find a way of relating with them in joy, laughter and seriousness. "Most schools are only concerned with imparting knowledge.
