April 2007 saw the release of singer-songwriter Erik VanHorn's debut album, Brother's Medicine, recorded, mixed and co-produced by Pancake Boy Productions. The 14 genre-bending songs blend blues, R&B, jazz fusion, funk, blue grass, and classic singer-songwriter fare.

VanHorn's goal was to produce an honest, passionate record. Raw, emotional cuts like "Girls Cry," "Julia" and "No Way Else" are offset by the up-tempo, sly grooves of "Shaken," "Earthstew" and "Catfish." The album was recorded in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and is the best musical self-portrait VanHorn has ever assembled.
