Press, this 200-page book (sized 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches) features 33 leading clowns
from the United States and Canada.
Contributors offer guidelines, creative ideas and personal stories about what
they do in nursing homes, assisted living centers and Alzheimer's units. The
text is illustrated with 315 black and white pictures of clowns and
illustrations by Bill Moore.
Contributors include the current president of Clowns of America
International, three past presidents of the World Clown Association, three past
Clowns of the Year of the World Clown Association and internationally known
caring clowns.
Chapters for specialized audiences include those for "Junior Joeys," Clowns
in Ministry and becoming Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Skit Chapter offers nine
skits from Paul Kleinberger, president of Clowns of America International. The
Creative Resources Chapter features more than a dozen routines with pictures.
A chapter by Shobhana "Shobi Dobi" Schwebke, editor of The Hospital Clown
Newsletter, speaks of developing the quality of your caring clowning, giving
the gift of your presence and clowning where there is suffering.
