No power, no electric light, these people live by fire light and oil lamps. This is a place where it is lighter later and dark earlier every day. This does not disturb them, it is nearer to nature, nearer to the earth.
Most often, it is the old people who will accept a pension. Once a week, a store in a neighbouring region sends a car with food, so they can be supported in kind. They are the last human beings in their cities and villages, after them there will be no more people, only the forest. They still have the hope that people will come back, and the times that they lived and loved will return. They do not expect things to be easy, times never have been for them. They feel the horror that lurks unseen must come to an end. It is unknown and unbelievable.
