The Reading Experience

Today we had to read our essays about are life experiences to a group of three people. I read my paper first. I have learned that even though view myself as a good writer I still make errors. For instance, even though my mom went over my paper with me in the line: “My aunt has lived in tow different countries such as Japan before I was born.” The word “to” is “tow” in the sentence. One of my friends pointed that out to me. I was taken-aback with that one.

I learned that as a writer I need to go over my work more than one time and really read for faults in the paper to make it top quality. I had to read “tow” as “to” to keep from being unprofessional to my audience. I also learned that I don’t focus too well when others read their papers. I just tend to get lost in my head. So, I will try my all to focus.

Even though I was not fully focused, I managed to catch most of what Lin and Becky read to me. It was quite fascinating. Becky wrote about surgery and Lin wrote about being in Puerto Rico. They made me wish I had more excitement in my life.

All I need to improve is to work on my proof reading skills and focusing. Other than that, I felt comfortable with this assignment.
