More Fun with Whitman

Ah, back to good old Whitman again. He seems to be the perfect example of an American man of his time. He is highly-educated, but yet he is not afraid to mingle with the working classes. The famous photo of him proves that well. His attitude on life reflects beautifully on his high self-confidence. His poems relief on his beliefs as well. All his poems reflect happily on life, nature, love, and religion. He sings nothing but praises about them all. He even takes the negative and celebrates that as well. The man as seems to be either homo or bisexual. No one can really be certain of this fact. But in his poetry, Whitman seems to like men as much as he does women. He also favors being with his fellow man than being alone. He just wants to befriend and love everyone—no matter what their past, present, or future may be. Whitman is not impressed by material or scholarly things. He just wants to be by people no matter what. Whitman is a confident people person. The best thing about him is that he is not too cocky or rude. I can truly respect him for that. It is really rarely for a poet/writer to be highly confident and not arrogant to the point of being annoying in life.
