Fun with Language

I have tried this once before. We just had to take a poem in another language and translate it with our own guesses. That meant no native tongue friends, language dictionaries, and online translators. Just going with a blind guess in the dark as we “imitated” the poem. I decided to do it with both poems, because I felt pretty brave. My results looked weird. I pretty much just translated what the words just looked like to me and just ran with it. Neither poem makes any sense at all. It was just I was stabbing around in the dark with a blindfold on, hoping to hit something. Some of the words in my translations stayed the same with others were dead on close. I did get stuck in a couple of places, but I managed to pull through just fine in the end. My first poem, Democracy, looks a little sexy judging by the words that I used in them. As I said before, they look weird and do not make any sense at all. Yet, I think I might come to like them over time. It was a bit tempting to look up the translation at times.
