For this unit, we built and programmed a lego bot to perfrom certain tasks. Some of these tasks included, hitting a ball, turning in circles, stopping at a predetermined distances and running at different speeds. Above and below are pictures of the bots that we used to preform these tasks.
These robots have a number of different attatchments that allow it to perfrom different tasks. Some of these attatchments include a infared sensor. This sensor is used to detect certain colors and perform tasks when that color is detected. Another attatchment is the sonar device. It's main purpose to to measure distance and approaching obstacles. Two more types of attatchments are microphone and touch sesors. All of these different types of devices can be linked together to perform a multitude of tasks. For instance, you could program the robot to start driving forward at the sound of a clap. Then when it comes within 15cm of a wall, it could stop and use one of the linear actuators to hit a ball.
