The dream of this retreat centre begins with our family ties. Cherie and Mandy both married into the family and have enjoyed the particularly rare miracle of having a wonderful relationship with their mother-in-law, and each other. Our Christian faith has bound the family together through all sorts of struggles and calls to ministry. Mandy had her first sneak preview of a future purpose of running a retreat centre in Summer 2003. After a camping trip to Georgian Bay she had realized that this would be the perfect use for her education.

Cherie and Anneke had had that same experience a few years later, as God planted a seed of running women’s retreats at a friend’s house in Pt. Stanley that had been a haven for both of them at particularly stressful times in their lives. Anneke had lived in and run a home for special care in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada and received the gift of weekends at this particular house. Cherie had also been given a haven from her busy life as wife and mother. At the end of Mandy’s studies the time seemed to be right for this venture to really materialize.

At this time we came together and decided that this was something we could all get together on, as our gifts are varied and compliment each other. Since then we have been able to obtain the original house that birthed this vision. We felt as three women at different stages of life, from student to empty-nester, we had a wealth of experience to share, and felt pulled by the idea of helping women just like ourselves grow in their faith and reach their potential in Christ.

Now, as this new adventure begins, we are inspired by how this vision has come together and we hope that you will join us.
