DUGG
Distributed Universal Guide Grabber
For Australian Television

Installation
DUGG does not require installation in the ordinary sense.
Simply unzip the downloaded files to a single folder, and run dugg.exe.

Un-Installing
Simply delete the folder referred to above. DUGG does not create any
registry entries or leave any dll's in your Windows folder.

Running DUGG automatically
If you run DUGG as a scheduled task or from another program such as BladeRunnerPro
you might get an error message "dugg.tkn not found"
If this occurs, look at the program you used to run DUGG and search for a place
to enter "Arguments" or "Command Line Arguments".
You must enter the full path to dugg.tkn here. - For example c:\\Program Files\dugg\dugg.tkn

Setting up DUGG
Note that the Setup button does not yet work. Later versions will have a GUI setup
but for now you must edit dugg.ini to meet your needs. Use notepad to edit this file.

Editing dugg.ini

Valid commands in dugg.ini are
channel=
timezone=
mode=
xmldir=
xmlname=
mergetitle=
channelswap
channeldupe
channeltimezone
autoupdate
noftp

channel
Use this to specify what channels you want DUGG to find data for.
You can add up to 200 channel commands, each on a new line.
See the file "channels.txt" for a list of available channels and their numbers.
Note that for all commands you can refer to a channel by its name or number.
I recommend you use the number, to minimize typos.

Example
    channel=85
    channel=130
    channel=56

This will set the program to find data for channels 85,130 and 56

timezone
Use this to set the default timezone. Timezones must be a + or - followed by
a 4 digit time in 24 hour format.

Example
    timezone=+1000
Will set the default timezone to 10 hours past GMT. This is correct for Brisbane.

mode
Use this to set the format in which DUGG should create XML. There are 2
valid formats, mp for MediaPortal and mce for Windows Media Center.

Example
    mode=mp
Use this to tell DUGG to output in a format suitable for MediaPortal

xmldir
Use this to set the location of the folder to save the XML data. It must be
a full path, including drive letter and formatting.

Example
    xmldir=C:\WINDOWS\ehome\BladeRunnerPro\GuideData\

xmlname
Use this to set the name of the XML file created.

Example
   xmlname=xmltv.xml

mergetitle
Use this to add the program subtitle to the title. Some programs, like MediaPortal
don't display sub-title information conveniently. This command forces dugg to
append the sub-title on to the end of the title, so you can see it easily.
A good use for this is sports. Normally the title is just the name of the sport but the
sub-title contains the particular match or game in question.

Example
   mergetitle=Sunday Night AFL
Would cause any programs with the title "Sunday Night AFL" to have their sub-titles
added at the end. So the final title might look like :
"Sunday Night AFL - Lions vs Tigers"

channelswap
Use this to rename channels to your liking. Each entry consists of 3 lines. The first is
simply "channelswap", the second is the channel you want renamed and the third is the
new name you want to give this channel.
Note that in the second line, channels can be identified by their name or number, and I'm
talking about the number you used in the "channel=" command.

Example
    channelswap
    18
   Channel 10

This would rename "Southern Cross TEN Capital Wagga", or channel 18 to "Channel 10"

channeldupe
Use this to duplicate the data in a channel,  by creating a new channel with the name you choose.
Each entry consists of 3 lines. The first is simply "channeldupe", the second is the channel you want
to duplicate and the third is the name you want to give this new channel.
Note that in the second line, channels can be identified by their name or number, and I'm
talking about the number you used in the "channel=" command.

Example
    channeldupe
    1
   ABC High Definition

This would duplicate "ABC ACT", or channel 1 to and create a new channel called "ABC High Definition"

channeltimezone
Use this to set a unique timezone for a channel, and over-ride the default timezone you set
with the "timezone'" command.
Each entry consists of 3 lines. The first is simply "channeltimezone", the second is the channel you want
to set the timezone for, and the third is the new timezone for this channel.
Note that in the second line, channels can be identified by their name or number, and I'm
talking about the number you used in the "channel=" command.

Example
    channeltimezone
    1
   +1000

This would over-ride the default timezone for "ABC NT" and set it to +1000

autoupdate
This simple, one-line commands enables the auto-update feature.
When a new version is released, usually with a new feature or bug-fix
dugg will automatically update itself.
Note while updating, dugg closes down momentarily and then re-opens.
This can confuse automatic scheduling programs because they think that dugg
has finished grabbing, when in fact it has not. Sorry.

Example
    autoupdate
This turns on the automatic update feature.

noftp
This simple, one-line commands instructs dugg to disable all ftp functions.
This is most useful if your network or ISP blocks FTP or port 21.
FTP functions are used to upload grabbed data to a central store, and download such
data if someone else has already grabbed it. It greatly speeds up the garabbing process
and reduces the workload on the source web-site. It is recommended that most users
not disable FTP, and therefore not include this command without a good reason.

Example
    noftp
This disables all program FTP functions.
