In Scott's Memory

LOVE BRIGHTENS ALL STORMS

On Nov 5th 2005, my youngest brother Scott Massey went home to the Lord. He had survived many things in this life, the last battle he came through was Hurricane Katrina. He made it out and came to Texas. But God is faithful, I talked to Scott the night the hurricane hit he was in a Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana.
I told him I loved him, and was praying for him. Then I could not contact him due to lines being down. Finally using text messaging reached him three days later, his text message back to me, read WE R ALIVE!
Praise God! I was crying and so happy to know he made it. He waded in water up to his chest to get out of there. When he got here in Texas we were all so happy and thankful he survived! We had sixty three days with him while he was here before the Lord called him Home!
He had Walking Pneumonia, and did not get medical help soon enough. I miss him so much, but am so thankful to the Lord that he allowed Scott to make it back here to Texas, and that he did not die in New Orleans. Scott hated that place and never wanted to go back and stated he never would, way before the hurricane ever hit! He in fact said once he got here to Texas he would never leave again, that he was going to stay here and help his dad and mom. And he did get the chance to help them.
They also had time to do one of his favorite things, FISH! Scott loved to fish and could catch em good. He taught me how to shore fish off the Gulf Coast in Corpus Chirsti, it was such a good time when we went there to visit.

Scott Fishing In The Gulf

Scott passed away at age thirty-five from the pneumonia and ARDS. (Acute respiratory distress syndrome), It is breathing failure that can occur in critically ill persons with underlying illnesses. It is not a specific disease.

My little brother and I were "Peas and Carrots," I bottle fed and helped mama and daddy diaper him, Oh what joy my heart felt to know a little brother was coming.

Scott and Micki In The Garden and In Wyoming

Scott lived in Kenner, Louisiana. He was a U.S.Army Veteran, his laughter was precious and his compassion for others unmatchable. He rooted always for the underdog. He left behind a legacy no one else can ever fill. He and I were very best of friends we talked almost daily.

SCOTT'S FAVORITE SCRIPTURES

ROMANS 8:28-31 - "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover who He predestined, these He also called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Romans 8:18 - "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be reveled in us."

Ephesians 6:12 - "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalitites, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Isaiah 40:31 - "But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."

James 1:2-5 - "My brethen, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faither produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him".

1st Peter 1:13 - "Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ."

Phillipians 3:13 & 14 - "Brethen, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
