Great Bounce Session
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Bounce Utility
So we had a quickie practice session for Bounce today, articles 4 reps, she did super..i started w/ 12 o'clock then 8 oclock then 4 o clock and ended in themiddle...she did super. the we did a couple directed retrieves w/ just two gloves, she did GREAT. Onto moving stand, great, thensome heelwork and signals...recall needs to be alittle more confident on signal, she's not as brisk as the rest of her signal work..but it will come. she had a couple boo boo's wanting to sit on halt/stand dog..but again, just a proofing/confidence thing that is not a real concern. She was evenable to stay focused doing article work while one 'screaming' puppy was bummed it wasnt him out "playing";-)

Little E-Z had a splendid little session as well;-)

E-Z Training Session
Mood:  a-ok
Today as school was getting out, read TONS of traffic etc and people adults, kids, running toddlers etc...busses, cars yadda yadda..we went into yard to do some play training, he managed to be completely & utterly awesome;-) He had been a tad bit leary of the vehicles and busses, but today..he coulda cared less about them and decided it was way more fun to watch mom get clicks, run to mom, get clicks, offer sits, get clicks, go into downs, get clicks, start to sit-up, get clicks...and more watching mommy;-) YAY E-Z!!! He also is thoroughly amused with snatching acorns which is a pain in my behind at the moment because they are everywhere!!!!!He is also a leaf extrordinaire...he loves leaves, crunchy dried up old ones, fresh soft new ones, big ones, small ones, blowing ones, still laying ones..he loves them all, haha..

Monday Night Training
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Bounce Utility
So Bounce & E-Z kid came to club Monday night. E-Z to dosome socializing, and Bounce to run thru some snappy training ex. She did some signal heelwork, signals super, we varied the time in between ea signal on different reps. & she did great. We did a couple short go-outs still needing much work, but I hope to have some help on those shortly. Articles, last week she was stressed about doing them at club, we were just beginning when they needed the jumps that were near us and they said go ahead and finish articles then they'd wait for jumps, but then everyone was watching her..good proofing for her, but proved to be almost too difficult at this point. she was able to get her articles but it took some re-sends back to pile to work. she was 50/50 getting 2 out of 4 and noted having trouble w/ articles in middle of pile. I went back to laying articles into a spiral type circle and have done systematically around the clock in reps..one at 3, then 2, then 1 and so on...to get her back in gear searching w/ a system. Last night it was really hot in the building, I was sweating, literally, and she panting, so i wondered how she would handle articles..the first rep she needed re assurance but then was able to do the next reps beautifully. So its coming. We did some moving stands as well, and some out of site groups..again VERY hot but she held them both wonderfully & didnt drop like a rock;-) E-Z played w/ some puppies, met some older dogs and was loved on by everyone who saw him, so it was a good night for both.

Lots of News!
Mood:  a-ok
Been a while since I have posted our training sessions. We have still been training tho'! I have slacked off a bit and not been sticking to EVERY day however, but am planning on getting back into the EVERY day schedule now that the clubs agility trial is over and we're all still standing:-) and a new addition has arrived in the form of a bouncing baby bc boy, so potty training and crate training has taken some precendence this past week or so too.

Back to training, Bounce did articles at club other night and had some trouble w/ finding the correct ones, but we hadnt done articles in over a week or so before that, so I suspect that coupled with another new place todo them threw her a bit, it's ok, she KNOWS how..so I am not concerned. I am planning on setting up my piles in a spiral form shape to get her working from in out or from out in successively and intentionally ...because I have noticed her becoming more random inhow she works her piles in that she doesnt have a real pattern to how she works it lately...and she did before..so I need to get her back to working in a pattern in checking the pile etc...so I think w/ laying out a sprial form and keeping track of where I place article...round the clock fashion..should do the trick;-)

Long Time No Post!!
Mood:  d'oh
Well, I havent slacked off on training, I just havent been able to post because there was some error problem with the site and I got sick of trying to sign-in w/o luck...but voila! It seems to be fixed now!!

So, Bounce has been doing well in her Utility training, articles are coming nicely both indoors and out with full mixed piles. She still has trouble on glove #1 for some reason but I know the brilliant little black bean will get-it eventually and become more confident with that blasted glove one, lol. Go-outs are coming along, we have yet to add any directed jumping because its not good enough to put together w/ additional parts of the ex as of yet., nor have we worked the directed jumping seperately, but we will soon!!!

So more recently, as in TODAY, we went to a one day USDAA trial. It was quite the early morning and NONE of us were too thrilled with rising that early!! OMG! We had to get up at 4am and we left before 5am..Can we say Y-A-W-N??? Anyhoo, rain held off for gamblers class and both Reddi and Bounce Q'd. Reddi also got a placement & completed her P1 Gamblers title today w/ that Q. Then we ran standard, rain did NOT hold out for us for standard class, luckily for me, Bounce ran early in the class so she didnt get the opened up skies nor a totally soaking wet chute or table to down on, tho' it was wet and raining for our run. I dropped her a bunch of times in the wet grass before our run to pre-soak her little bare boxer belly;-) She Q'd and finished her P1 title w/ that run, now onto PII/advanced next week;-)Reddi was second to last dog in class and she got the REAL rain and wet wet stuff..and mud..and puddles....and the fabric on the chute "totally" detached from barrel when she rocketed thru and she started to try to keep running IN the fabric taking it with her then tangling up. I was running over to try to get her outta there and as soon as myself and the judge made it over to the chute material and her..she popped out the end like squishing a tube of toothpaste totally uneffected from the detach-n-tangle event so I tried to quickly redirect myself to hurry up & continue on w/ the rest of the course with her!!! We finished it, and she ran clean! Ended up w/ her first P1 standard leg and a 1st placement...even tho' the chute tried to eat her! Thank dog that wasn't Bounce!!! She would've been horrified as she has always been leary of chute monsters anyhoo. If I could've put a cartoon bubble over Reddi's head it would've said something like " Hey!! Who put this big superman cape on me?!?!?! Get it off and get it off NOW..its slowing me down for cripes sake!!!" lol. We ended up scratching snooker runs as it was just not looking as if it was going to let up..and man was it coming down!! So we opted to pack up early and take off for home, I am sooo glad we did, we were all pooped from getting up at that ungodly hour, theyre use to their lounging morning dog beauty sleep, snicker. And me, I like my sleep too!;-)

Agility Thursday:-)
Mood:  a-ok
Today we packed up the van and went to agility.Me, Shane,Bounce,Reddi,Mamie,Juneau,& Gretyl. To say the van was packed with crates was an understatement! Shane ran Bounce, Reddi,Tippy,Matay,& Jaimie. He had a GREAT time!!!!Reddi runs very nicely for him and its interesting to watch as she switches gears..who knew? in order to run with him. They did some beautiful rear crosses & she nailed all her contacts wonderfully;-)

During our second class I got out Mamie and Juneau to introduce them to the wonderful world of agility obstacles:-) Mamie is going to be a star!!!! she is super amped, trying really hard to focus her energy...and she is "fast & fearless"!!! Juneau was a bit weary in a new facility for her, but warmed up shortly thereafter and I was very happy with what I got from her today while we were there. They both did some targeting, tunnels, got on tippy boards and planks, and both of them did alittle backchained descent from a baby frame;-)They both did some hand targeting, and some sit/down signal work as well. Mamie also did some restrained motivational recalls;-)Gretyl had many mini walks and strolls while we were there today & was thrilled to be on a leash strolling around in the warm sun.

Bounce hasn't done any utility training in a couple days. Last time was Tuesday, and I was bummed because I had planned to do articles before class that night at fairgrounds but we did them in the morning having forgotten it was Tuesday...and I only have one set..so they didnt havetime to air out to do them again:-( We did begin some go-outs yesterday, and she was super pumped to fly to a target, we'll work more on those more regularly now too!

Weekend Trials
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Trials
So this weekend we had CPE trials. Reddi was only in on Saturday for two classes. She did level 3 jackpot and level 4 fullhouse. she Q'dwith 1st's in both of her classes;-)

Bounce was in every class over weekend. Shane tried to run her for the first time in colors but she left the ring to look for me. I shouldnt have left the startline but she was so into him I figured it would be ok, so I went over to exit gate, when he got her "online" that was when she turned back to look for me and then panicked when I wasnt there. oops. We'll keep working on him running her:-)She Q'd in jumpers w/ a 2nd or 3rd I think it was, got first and Q in fullhouse level 3, and on Sunday she got 1st and Q in std. level 3 and got a 3rd in snooker level 3.:-)

We didnt practice articles cause it was a long weekend and she deserved to stretch out and RELAX after trials:-)We have yet to do them today but short breaks are good;-)

Thumbs Up for Morning Practice;-)
Mood:  happy
Topic: Bounce Utility
Ok, so it's not really morning, more like early afternoon, but we just did Bounces articles in the house, not outside but different time of day and she had four successful reps. One thing I did change or alter on second two reps was that I did NOT give her my scent before my turn/sit/send. I have been cupping my hand to give her the scent but many times she turns her head away like get lost mom!! Get that hand outta my face! So..after speaking to a friend I am grasping the fact that she really doesnt "need" that and its really more for me, smile. And she did her articles just fine without me giving her scent so...phew. Smile. Later on we'll do another little session and work some gloves and signals:-)

Almost Forgot
Mood:  incredulous
Topic: Bounce Utility
Beanie did her articles last night w/ Shane as our judge helper. she did all four successfully. She's taking today off since we did agility today. And also because I want to do her articles in the morning, and since I only have one set I want to make sure theyve been aired out well before we do them again. Normally we do them once each night, so they have a full day to air out before we do them again. So tomorrow we'll do some articles for breakfast instead of for dinner;-)
