MWB \M – w – B \, abbr., mid-winter blowout, noun:
1. An annual party held within two weeks of New
Years; a bash of great proportion.
2. An event that heralds a mid-way point through
Winter; an indoor and outdoor extravaganza.
3. A soirée that grows in attendance from year to year.
The Tenth annual MWB party scheduled for January 7th, 2006 promises to be the biggest event of its kind to date. It is also the LAST MWB party.
For those of you who have not attended a Mid-Winter Blowout, this is something you must experience to understand. It truly embodies what it means to be a Minnesotan if you can be at a party in January where an outdoor area is provided for the stout!
The main emphasis of a MWB party is the bonfire. Although smaller
than previous years, it wouldn’t be MWB without it!
This year will be that and more…here are the details:
· Saturday, January 7th. Starts 8:30 p.m., ends when the venue closes.
· Excelsior American Legion Post 259, 24450 Smithtown Road, Excelsior, MN. 952-474-3982
· 21 and older to attend.
· Beer provided as well as a smorgasbord of food.
· Door prizes awarded throughout the evening…please keep your ticket stub.
· Live entertainment by the Ross William Perry band starting at 9 p.m.
· The Cost is $11 at the door ($10 paid in advance until Jan. 6th through PayPal to dennikro@hotmail.com.) This is a tremendous bargain for a night of fun. Where else can you go out to a bar and only spend that kind of money?
· A full bar is also open but NOT covered by the cost of admission if you’re looking for a few mixed drinks. Bring extra cash if you choose that route.
· Plenty of parking for cars and snowmobiles.
