"Virgil" a.k.a. Mr. Goodbar, born to R&B, jazz vocalist and musician "Virgil D. Rucker Sr." (Luisiana) and a hard working Willetta (Indiana), was raised mostly in the Bay Area of Northern California. "Virgil Jr." began to recognize music, attempting to actually play patterns on the piano & drums, while singing and dancing at age three. He followed closely under the wing of his father, throughout his playing circuit. "Virgil Jr." has performed and participated (on stage) with industry artists and musician greats, such as "Freddy Jackson", "Boyz II Men", and "Pebbles". "Virgil" has been deeply involved in music all his life, recording and performing with all who allowed or desired him. At 21, "Virgil" traveled many states leaving a lasting impression, (both personally and musically) upon whom he came in contact with. "Jr." also won many talent shows, yearning for the opportunity to shine. Shortly thereafter, Capital Record's rap group, ''International Family Affair" (I.F.A./'96-97') joined "Virgil's" gift of songwriting, arranging and performing for the purposes of merging rap with his creative vocal styling. Thus producing the hot new distinct blend of genres that propelled "I.F.A." to a level in which "Billboard magazine" (1997) likened to that of the "Beatles." Virgil and the group promoted their single "Throw ya hands up" with enormous radio play, and a music video (Michael Martin), which flooded BET, MTV and CMC the box for months. Not long after his group efforts, "Virgil Jr." came into his own (artistry), evolving into who we know as "Mr. Goodbar" (i.e. 'Everything a woman wishes she had, and everything a man wishes he was!'). As a solo independent artist, "Goodbar" has become a seasoned performer, recording artist, and entertainer, and has built an extensive fan base throughout the US. "Mr. Goodbar" is one of Hip Hop / R&Bs most sought after feature vocalists. "I know Im one of the many singers out here, but Im 'The Bizness' he states, because Im attached to the streets". "M.G.B." has finished working with "Deejon & Teak" the beatsmith of "Hallway Productionz" (Ice Cube/Dre), amoung other hot producers (Lil' Zo/IV), remixing several of his classic tracks, prepare 'em for radio. "Mr. Goodbar" has recently completed his highly anticipated CD entitled "? Is Love?"
