Welcome to Richard and Sara's house in Moncontour, Cote d'Armor, Brittany
Our house is situated in the medieval town of Moncontour one of the 'Petites Cites de Caractere', with every convenience on the doorstep. There's a Spar supermarket, boulangerie, restaurants and bars in town. There's a swimming pool and lovely views and wooded country walks. Moncontour is only 20 minutes from the sea and the city of St Brieuc where there is an ice skating rink at Langueux on the east side.
See the location of the house on multimap.com and keep zooming out to see Moncontour's location in France. The house has 3 bedrooms with 1 double and 4 single beds and a further double bedsettee in the living room. The large medieval city of Dinan is approximately 40 minutes drive from Moncontour. The RAC routeplanner site says that Moncontour is approximately 6.5 hours drive from the port of Bologne where Speedferries takes you across the channel cheaply from Dover in only 50 minutes. There are tolls to pay on the motorways but it's very direct and sometimes almost deserted with great rest spots 'aires de repos' with swings for kids! Check out intoferries.com for more routes to France, the closest to Moncontour being St Malo which is about an hour's drive. Another possible route is by air from Stansted to Dinard (about 45 minutes from Moncontour, if you were to hire a car) with Ryanair.
