The Jackson Randy Rhoads guitar was the signature model of the legendary Randy Rhoads. Originally this guitar was called the Concorde it is now refered to as the Pinstripe V or LTD. Randy Re-disigned these newer Concordes or production models with a longer horn because he felt they were relating his Pinstripe V with the Flying V. It features 2 humbucking pickups and often a Floyd Rose Tremelo. The Guitar usually has 22 frets but on certain series, it is featured with 24 frets. The headstock is a typical |

but some series comes with a reverse headstock at extra charge. This model was Jackson's first model. It was and still is one of their most popular models as well as put Jackson's name on the map. This guitar is one of my all time favorite models. Made from Alder with a thru body maple neck. And one of the alternatives for the Gibson Les Paul in tone. I played this Guitar thru a Peavey 6505+ amp. These guitars sound great with the SD SH4JB model pick-ups, even though I would probably replace the pick-ups with my favorite ones. The quality is perfect on the guitar I was playing not to mention the action and intonation were almost perfect from the factory. These guitars are modestly priced around $1100 compared with the Gibson Les Pauls. It would seem that after Fender purchased Jackson they desided to jack the price of the RR1 up almost $1000 and decided to make this model which doesn't come with ebony fretboard , Seymour Duncan's SH2 jazz model pick up in the neck or 6105 fretwire. These features were what drew me to the RR series originally. But don't get me wrong this Jackson RR5 is still one of the best crafted guitars on the market today. So if you want you can spend the extra money and get the RR1, or deal with the loss of ebony fretboards and the SH2 and purchase the RR5. |
