More about Shard Mercathe:Shard was a bastard child that as soon as he was born was sent in to the service of one of the many houses as a slave and breeder in the drow city of Solcarasteni a largely unknown drow city in the under dark where the spider queen is worshipped at the age of ninety shard was sold to another house as a breeder this house sent him off to the fighter school so that he might be able to be of some use to them as a fighter as well as a breeder this training as well as his experiences in his youth taught him to live in the dog eat dog world. At the age of 150 he was sent on his first trip into the underdark where he had his first experience with a free creature of another race he did what was expected of him and claimed them as slaves for his matron mother of his current house and returned them but this encounter caused him to have his first doubts about the supremacy of his race he made more ventures into the under dark in the months to come many of them uneventful with a few minor encounters here and there soon he started to doubt that what he was doing was right and slaves started to escape or disappear in the middle of the night or some mistake would happen by seeming accident that would allow the enemy to gain the upper hand shard used these occurrences to promote himself and gain rank within his house and very soon was the leader of his excursion group and he started to make his plans to get away form his accursed master and here accursed high priestesses he started to collect the things he would need he acquired his war hammers Thundersoul and Winters Touch and many of the other things he would need to survive in the world above
Soon enough he had collected every thing of importance to him and left his home behind the guards not asking questions of him because of him newly gained rank and besides what might have happened to him had they decided that he wasn’t allowed to leave?...
He traveled alone for several days avoiding the normal riffraff of the under dark but soon discovered that in order to live here he would have to carve out anitch for himself or go to the surface and not return to the underdark as he made his way to the surface he received the strangest vision of a pale skinned female elf clad in nothing but the glowing light that surrounded her in this moment she gave him a choice to serve her in her world or to live a life of endless searching and wondering waiting for the day that he might finally be killed he was given very short time but in the end he chose to accept this ladies offer and became a servant of the goddess Eilistraee. He spent 50 years unaging and ungrowin learning to follow where this lady lead 50 years of torture to a soul that was so filled with hate and anger that to change became a physical wound that would never heal at the end of the 50 years he was released back into the world and put under the care of her followers to be taught the ways of this world he spent 20 years learning of these people and places and then set out into the world alone and afraid in world full of strangers mae even stranger by the fact that it was a world he knew very little about. a world called Krynn. he found him self in a forest at the edge of a meadow with an inn just down the way.
