MHAADO Board of Directors
The purposes for which this Corporation is organized are to raise funds and coordinate resources for the control and prevention of HIV transmission and provision of care and support to the infected and affected people of Emuhaya Constituency, Western Kenya. The Organization is expected to achieve the following targets:
- Assume leadership role in advocacy and public relations for HIV/AIDS.
- Provide leadership in developing community-based activities to ensure that the rate of the spread of HIV is slowed while at the same time the effects of HIV are addressed.
- Mobilize resources for HIV/AIDS control and prevention.
- Mobilize communities, ensuring that committees of elders are formed, promoting positive behavior change in groups of men, women and the youth and working out mechanisms to address the impact of HIV/AIDS in the communities.
- Dissemination of information to the community through training those who provide home-based care of people living with AIDS; Counselling; training birth attendants; dissemination of information through the media and by word of mouth, and organizing seminars and workshops as well as open air speeches. Women, too, need to be engaged in income generating activities and they need to be trained in small-scale farming.
- Submit reports back to the donor community.
