Silent Band

In a place far away, a far different land
When we paused on the brink
Of the life we had planned
You looked in my eyes, I gave you my hand,

To dance to the magic
Of our own silent band.

Remember the waltz from so long ago
When we swayed to the music
Played gently and slow
Reliving the dream that you and I know
While the melody wrapped us
In a warm cozy glow.

And here in the mist of remembering we stand,
With our wish to recapture
A moment so grand,
Like the finest of threads from a spider web strand

Echoes music on moonbeams
From our own silent band

Was it you I heard singing and calling to me
Was it you waiting there
In trust patiently?
When at last our eyes meet one more time will you see
The partner you waltzed with
And loved with was me?

Harmony lingers though chords died away
Two hearts remain joined
Though we parted that day
But from the far reaches, cross the deep and the land
Whisper strains of sweet music
From our own silent band.
