When the sun comes up

And streams across my bedroom

Waking me by touching my eyelids,

My mind comes alive

And my first morning thoughts are...

"Him"

I brew my coffee

And take a warm shower,

Getting ready to face the day

Combing my hair,

Putting on my makeup and thinking of...

"Him"

I race to make my lunch

And grab my phone

Rushing with my keys to start the car

Knowing that I will soon

Be busy enough not to dwell on...

"Him"

Lunch is to grab a bite,

Relax and perhaps read a magazine

Away from the demanding crowds

But deep within the folds

Of any of the pages is...

"Him"

Time to go home

And face an empty house

Each room echoes with alone

And I take my evening meal

As always without...

"Him"

The dark night comes on

And black descends

Every corner different shades of gray

And as my head lies on the pillow,

Eyes closed I see...

"Him"

He is in the shrill ringing of the phone

He stands and chimes the doorbell

But I know that my heart

Only longs for it to be...

"Him"

All of a hundred wishes coming true at once,

A thousand daydreams realized

And a million miles vanished

Could ever bring...

"Him"

But a million miles did vanish

And all of a sudden the universe shifted

When God, in all His wisdom,

Brought
