CONFESSION TO MURDER

The prosecution and investigative files contained a series of audio tapes; one of which suspiciously was labeled "Side 1". The side 1 tape was a male voice calling the Tuscaloosa Police Department dispatcher. The person named himself, stating that he murdered the girl at Austin's and wanted to turn himself in because he could not live with the guilt!

The dispatcher transferred the call to the Homicide Division, where a Supervising investigator asked the man his name (again he gave it), asked him where was he and what clothing he was wearing and reaffirmed his confession- Police then went to that location and arrested the man on other charges. According to this audio tape, the man's name is Wesley Holman (sic).

[Note: This confession has never been disclosed by the prosecutor or police investigator's. There is no report, log or indication that this confession ever occurred; His arrest on other charges ensured that by the grace of God, it would have remained hidden forever! What is equally shocking is the fact that this confession occurred on January 4, 1985, less than twenty-four (24) hours after a warrant was taken out on Jerry Porter for capital murder and the call was placed from a nightclub that Jerry Porter was known to frequent! Where one of his ex-girlfriends worked!]
