Summary:"She had been running over the cards contents ever since she had read them for the first time. It was the weirdest thing someone could have ever written, but there it was in his infamous chicken scratch. Blue inked pins were now her enemy. Who would write something like that after six months together?" Written in response to ink_princess's plot bunny attack on her Yahoo group. Hope this is what you were looking for.
Disclaimer: Unfortunately I don't own Mr. Bloom but I do own the girl, she is a product of my over active imagination.
Bailey looks down at the bouquet of flowers sitting in her passenger seat, beautiful lilies, her favorite flower. She’d received them today by a delivery boy dressed in an odd looking work uniform. He had made her sign a piece of paper confirming that she was who she said she was and then handed her the bundle, after all of that was accomplished he walked out of the room to put distance between himself and the ‘package’ he had just dropped off.
It was probably a good thing he had run when he did because after looking at the card Bailey was ready to strangle just about anyone in her path.
“Sorry Doll, but I just don’t think we’re going to work out. I know you’re a really great person and I admire you for your ambition. Maybe someday you’ll find the right person but I just don’t think it’ll be me.- OB”
‘Admire you for your ambition?' 'What the hell is that supposed to mean?’ She thought to herself.
She had been running over the cards contents ever since she had read them for the first time. It was the weirdest thing someone could have ever written, but there it was in his infamous chicken scratch. Blue inked pins were now her enemy. Who would write something like that after six months together?
Looking out into the crowded streets of Nottingham she finally found the person in question. She hopped out of her car and ran over to the man that was fast becoming a good reason to go to prison. “What the hell is this supposed to mean?” She slammed the flowers against the man’s chest and held back the joyous laughter at having obviously caused the other man pain.
“I thought it’d be better than having to do it face to face. Not really good at that sort of thing.”
“If you decide to get the wild urge to break up with a girlfriend, do them a huge favor and don’t make a huge show of having someone deliver them to her office just so they can all see how upset she gets when she receives the message.” She bit back.
People were starting to turn to look at the couple’s bantering, the last thing she needed was to bring more attention to herself. Instead she leaned closer to where only he would be able to hear her next words. “Go to hell. I don’t care if you are some big Hollywood star. You aren’t worth getting this upset over, so go back to whatever precious groupie decides to throw themselves at you next time because I don’t care anymore.”
She made to leave but was stopped by his next words. “I don’t want to go back to some groupie.”
His hand wrapped tightly around her wrist and he pulled her back to his waiting arms. She tried to protest but the words were stolen from her mouth as his lips crushed down upon her own. The kiss was a desperate attempt to erase everything that had happened between the two. She instantly melted into the strong embrace, but when the need to breathe became too important she pulled away a fraction too look into the chocolate brown eyes she had fallen hard for. “Why did you send them?”
“I’m going back to Los Angeles tomorrow and I don’t know when I’ll be back so I thought it might be easier on us both if I ended it.” He took a shaky breath and closed his eyes, letting a single tear roll down his cheek. “I don’t want to end this though. I love you Bailey.”
Bailey let out a choked sob and buried her face into the crook of his neck. “I love you too Orlando.”
They silently made their way back to her car, but not before Orlando dropped the flowers head fist into a trash bin; neither one wanting a reminder of what could have been.
