Red Technique = Kiyap!

KWANG GAE is named after the famous Kwang-Gae-Toh-Wang, the 19th King of the Koguryo Dynasty, who regained all the lost territories including the greater part of Manchuria.  The diagram represents the expansion and recovery of lost territory.  (The great Korean king.)

Step with the left foot to the right foot, then step forward with the right foot into a right front stance.  Execute a Single Knife Hand Block

Step with the right foot to the left foot, then step forward with the left foot into a left front stance.  Execute a Single Knife Hand Block

Step with the left foot to the right foot, step with the right foot forward and to the left while turning to direction “S” into a Left Front Stance while executing an Upward Pushing Block with the Right Palm

Step forward with the right foot into a Right Front Stance and execute an Upward Pushing Block with Left Palm

Closed Stance

Bring the left foot beside the right foot.  Bring your hands above your head with the right hand in a fist and the left hand in an open palm with the fingers together.  Make a large circle with your hands slowly until your hands are about six inches from each other at the bottom of the circle which will be in front of you and below your waist.  When they are six inches apart, then bring them together quickly.

Execute a low and high side kick to your left (“E”) landing in a right back stance and executing a Right Hammer Fist.

Mini Right Back Stance

Slide the left foot back towards the right foot to form a Mini Right Back Stance and then execute a left circular downward knife hand chop.

Execute a low and high side kick to your left (“E”) landing in a left back stance and executing a Left Hammer Fist.

Mini Left Back Stance

Slide the right foot back towards the left foot to form a Mini Left Back Stance and then execute a right circular downward knife hand chop.

Right Reinforced Block to the “N”.  You do not step forward for this technique, you simply move the right foot to your right to form the the Right Front Stance.

Hop or Skip backwards maintaining the same stance while bringing the left hand down to do a Left Low Outward Knife Hand Block

Don’t move your feet for this technique.  Execute a right high spear hand SLOWLY with the palm facing downward.

Turning towards your left “S” into a Right Back Stance and execute a Left Back Fist

Left Reinforced Block to the “S”.  You do not step forward for this technique, you simply move the left foot to your left to form the Left Front Stance.
