Paradise Kiss
One of the things
that haunts my cosplay experience is that I never look like any of the
characters from any of the serieses that I like. One cruel example is Paradise Kiss. I love the manga,
but with bright blonde hair and a nice 5’11” height, I really don’t look like
any of them (except maybe Isabel?
But she’s a drag queen!). After talking to some friends, we finally
decided that if I desperately had to be one of the characters, the tall,
slender Yukari was probably my best bet, since I could always use a wig. And
although a Japanese model is still a pretty bad fit for me, at least it’s a
better fit than any of the other characters.
I’d still say that the character’s a pretty bad fit (no one got it). But I personally think that I still look very “off the runway”, and I like having a dress that I can actually wear in real life. So, no, I’m not going to do one of her uber-elaborate costumes. But I at least enjoy wearing this one around. Even if no one gets that I’m Yukari, at least I get tons of compliments when I walk around in real life with it. Plus, I think that it makes me look thinner. ; )
