Serpent (Judeo-Christian Mythology)

I can be lazy too. I bought this costume at a Halloween special at the store “It’s a Wrap”, a store that sells costumes used on TV shows and movies for cut rate prices. Around Halloween they sell all the costumy stuff. This one was used on some TV show called “Cursed”. (Never seen it.)

To make the costume a bit more interesting, I added an apple.  Take that. Rather than just be a girl in a reptile patterned bodysuit, I would now be the Biblical serpent, complete with apple.  The funny thing is how few people get the reference.  Only a few figure it out without me pointing emphatically towards the apple. And some don’t get it even after I’ve hinted that it’s from “a very famous book”. The worst are those who don’t get the costume even after I’ve explained it. Jesus.  Um...

The costume is always a lot of fun as I get to run around a con with an apple tempting people to “Take a bit of my forbidden fruit”.  This would work better if I could avoid laughing constantly as I said the lines. Or if people responded (in general) other than sleazy old men.  Oh well.  I also get a lot of compliments as the outfit really shows off my figure, although unfortunately in the case of these pictures, I was rather heavy during the photo shoot (about ten pounds over my normal weight), so even that’s not turning out quite as well as usual.

One of the more amusing lines I’ve gotten while wearing the costume is that it certainly puts an interesting spin on Genesis if the serpent is a female one rather than a male one. Perhaps.  Hmmm...maybe that’s why Eve’s punishment was being forced to bear Adam children. Everyone knows that she’d rather be with a serpent who is the embodiment of Temptation.
