The most enigmatic member of the Fuller family was John "Mad Jack" Fuller MP, 1757-1834, Squire of Brightling. In 1575, the first Fuller arrived in Waldron, Sussex and took over the lease of Tanners Manor. The family fortune was made by acquiring land and through the Fuller Foundry at Heathfield that supplied cannons to the British Government. Sugar plantations in Jamaica were added to the land holdings. Many of the Fuller men entered politics and became Members of Parliament. Here are listed over six thousand three hundred relatives of John Fuller.
