Trappers Tea & Current Use of Ledum

Fur trappers in the American West used to come down with a wasting disease that could be alleviated by daily concoctions of an herb that came to be known as Trappers Tea. That herb was Ledum Palustre, which is used, oddly enough, by homeopaths and herbalists in treating Lyme disease. Also, the Russians discovered that Ledum inactivates the TBE virus almost completely.

Ledum is a member of the rosemary family but without the toxicity that rosemary has for the liver.
