Morning Call, The (Allentown, PA) - October 28, 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deceased Name: Leonard J. Spooner Leonard J. Spooner, of South Whitehall Township., died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. Born August 1, 1928 in Egypt, he was the son of the late Stephen P. Peppy and Emma A. (Schultz) Spooner. He was married on January 7, 1978 to June M. (Mogus) Spooner. He was a salesman for the former Masback Hardware Co. based in North Bergen, N.J. for many years retiring in 1996. He served in the U.S. Army in the Heavy Mortar Company, 160th Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He also served in the Merchant Marines. Survivors: Wife; sisters, Lorraine Kunkel in New Jersey; Paulette Carey of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was predeceased by his first wife Jean (McFadden) Spooner. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29, in the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main Street, Egypt, with a calling hour from 10-11 a.m. inthe church. Arrangements by Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church or the Lyme Disease Assoc. of Connecticut, care of the funeral home.
