Priscilla Moulton Shafer, 73

Day, The (New London, CT) - September 8, 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deceased Name: Priscilla Shafer Ledyard - Priscilla Moulton Shafer, 73, of Shewville Road, Ledyard, died at home on Aug. 18 after a long battle with Lyme Disease and Lou Gehrig's Disease. She was born in Dixfield, Maine, on Aug. 26, 1930. Priscilla was the daughter of the late Helen Cummings Moulton Cyr and Frederick Moulton. She enjoyed the home she and her husband, Herbert N. Shafer, built together in Ledyard, and working in her beautiful gardens. She worked as a recreation director for Mystic Manor Convalescent home for several years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Roger, and his wife, Betsy, of Ledyard; a brother, James Moulton, and his wife, Josephine, of Groton; and two grandchildren, Ben Shafer and Charlie Shafer. She was predeceased by two brothers, Everett Moulton and Arnold Moulton, and her sister Berniece Moulton Mumford. A memorial service will be conducted at the Old Mystic Baptist Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. There are no calling hours.
