John N. Gamble

HARTSVILLE - Funeral services for John N. Gamble 67, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, September 11, 1998, in the Chapel of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The Rev. Ben Gafford will officiate, with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Gamble died Wednesday, September 9, 1998. Born in Charlotte, NC, he was a son of the late Clyde and Sudie Smith Gamble. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and the Hartsville Masonic Lodge #173. He was retired from Sonoco Products Company with 30 years of service and was a member of the Old Timers Club. Surviving are his wife, Peggy R. Gamble of Hartsville, SC; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Lisa Gamble of Clemmons, NC, Jimmy and Christine Gamble of Alpharetta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Connee and Jerry Grantham of Hartsville, SC; sisters, Sue Madsen of Claremont, CA, Frances Sloan of Waxhaw, NC, and Katherine Sweeney of Charleston, SC; and grandsons, Preston Grantham, Robert Grantham, John B. Gamble, Micheal Gamble, Tom Gamble and Steven Gamble.
