Hartford Courant, The (CT) - September 8, 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deceased Name: CHAMBERLAIN, GERMAINE''GIGI'' (ST. LAURENT) CHAMBERLAIN, Germaine''Gigi'' (St. Laurent) Germaine (St. Laurent) Chamberlain, ''Gigi'', of Park Road, Colchester, passed into eternal life on Monday (September 6, 2004) at the Harrington Court Genesis Elder Care Center in Colchester, with her loving family by her side. Born April 3, 1912 in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of Damien and Alexina (Belanger) St. Laurent. Germaine enjoyed working until she was 75 years old as a caring and gracious waitress. In her spare time, she was involved in many creative endeavors such as sewing, designing, needle arts, ceramics and painting. The special work of her life was about love and loyalty to family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Claudette Lynch of Colchester with whom she made her home and Gail Nevins and husband Albert of West Hartford; two adoring grandsons and their wives, Dr. Mark D. Nevins and his wife Ndingara Nicole Nevins of New York City, NY and Kevin R. Nevins and his wife, Sherri Nevins of Stafford; and numerous extended family and friends. Her close friends included Mary Fernandez, Mary Ellen Vincenzo, Sue Welch, Jan Dillon and Carol Dolinski. Her pet Yorkshire terrier, ''Pitou'', will sadly miss her. She was predeceased by her husband, David Chamberlain, four brothers, Oscar, Armond, Jack and Joe and her son-in-law, James F. Lynch. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all the devoted staff at Harrington Court Genesis Elder Care Center who took such excellent care of Germaine during her stay in that facility. The family will celebrate a Mass of Remembrance, with Fr. Michael Giannitelli officiating, on Saturday, September 11th at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Avenue, Colchester, to which all are invited. There are no calling hours.
