Flint Journal, The (MI) - November 15, 1997 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deceased Name: RUDE RUDE, Charles Lee - Age 54, of Flint, formerly of Swartz Creek, originally of Muncie, IN., died Thursday, November 13, 1997. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Monday, November 17, 1997 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Rev. Fr. Richard Groshek officiating. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association or the Lymes Disease Association. Mr. Rude was born February 6, 1943 in Vincennes, IN., the son of Melvin S. and Rose A. (Kern) Rude. He married Anete Espejo on October 17, 1964 in Muncie, IN. He lived in Mucie, IN. for over 30 years, coming to Flint in 1977. Mr. Rude was the former owner of Charlie's Home Improvement, he was also employed by Kirby Wood in Muncie, IN. and Wolohan Lumber in Muncie, IN. and Swartz Creek. Mr. Rude was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Muncie and Flint. He was a member of PTO and Parent Boosters at both parishes and the public schools. He was also very active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Surviving are: his wife, Anete Espejo Rude; daughter, Dagny Rude and her partner Ellen Schnackel of Chicago; son, Garon and wife Pamela Rude of Flint; 2 grand-daughters, Cassandra and Erin; sister, Norma Ruttan and husband Ken of Muncie, IN.; 4 nephews; 2 nieces.
