Ann H. McChesney, 58, formerly of Ransomville, who taught college nutrition courses for 27 years, died Sunday (July 19, 1998) in Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick, N.J., after a long battle with lyme disease.

The former Ann Seefeldt was born in North Tonawanda and was raised in Ransomville. She was a resident of New Brunswick. She was a graduate of Wilson Central Schools and received her bachelor of science degree in home economics education from Cornell University. In addition, she received a master of education from the University of Minnesota, and a doctorate in vocational education from Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey. Mrs. McChesney had also served a dietetic internship at the U.S. Public Health Hospital at Rutgers University to become a registered dietitian. For 27 years, she taught undergraduate and graduate students in nutrition, first at Douglass College, and then for the Nutrition Science Department at Cook College. Both are in New Brunswick and are part of Rutgers. As a teen-ager she was active in the 4-H Program in Niagara County, and was selected to represent the state at the National 4-H Congress in Chicago. In addition, Mrs. McChesney was a long-time member and Sunday school teacher at the Community Presbyterian Church of Sandhills, Kendall Park, N.J. Mrs. McChesney was a member of the Cornell University Alumni Association, the Rutgers Alumni Association and Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Survivors include her husband, Charles E.; three sons, Charles E. of Lancaster, Ohio, Matthew H. of Lawrenceville, N.J., and Daniel of Pittsburgh, Pa.; her mother, Miriam Seefeldt Robinson of Lockport; and a brother, Donald, of Lockport.
