Little Fishes

Enjoy a structured half hour of action songs, games and enjoyable exercises designed to transform natural reflexes into swimming movements. All activities are closely geared to each child's ability with lots of personal attention guaranteed.

Classes are held in a private pool and well-behaved siblings are welcome to spectate on poolside (often in portable travel cots or car seats!)

You do not need to be a swimmer yourself to take part fully in the class!

Classes are on Thursday mornings at Dolphin Pool, Drabbs Lane, Clopton, off the B1078 between Wickham Market and Otley. This is also near to Grundisburgh, off the B1079.

All babies and pre-schoolers who are not potty trained need to wear a swim nappy in the pool. I recommend a reuseable swim nappy as opposed to a disposable one so here are three links to sites which sell good swim nappies. I hope you find one you like!

In the Autumn and Winter months I recommend that babies and pre-schoolers ( and parents) wear an additional layer when in the pool to safeguard valuable bodyheat. This makes the classes far more enjoyable...which is the whole point. You and your child could both wear a tee shirt or investigate a neoprene layer.

You can get adult neoprene tops and there are several different makes of 'baby and children's wet suits'. They usually cover just the torso or have short arms and legs and have velcro fastenings. When buying for a little baby, choose one that you can put on and take off when the baby is lying down. I have provided a few links to sites which sell these mini wet suits. There are many other similar sites and the prices seem to range from £17 to £27.
