Physical Description: Opafergon is 5’7” tall and weighs about 130. Her build is really not to much, but her stance, which seams to make her always appear on the offensive. Her hair is unusually long for a dragon rider as it comes to about her midback-probably longer if she would leave it unbraided-and is a dark brown almost black in color. Her eyes are almost and aquamarine in color and are a contrast to the rest of her features being nearly rounded in shape. Her skin has almost a naturally /dark/ tan to it, that has only gotten darker over the turns; and the only thing that mars this are the scars she holds.

Of scars she has a good number from her history of fighting: one that is about an inch above her eyes from where she ran into a table when she was younger, other then that she has several though they have all faded to where they are hardly noticeable now except for that fact that they are lighter parts in her skin.

Oh yes and of course you can’t forget the tattoos on either side of her back, they are rather crude compared ones on terrain, but still rather good. The one on the right is on a firelizard, or so she says: a dark green in color only just a shade lighter then black in color; her wings are spread slightly just enough to be seen; her tail is turned up to where the tip touches the leading edge of her right wing; she looks like a sitting canine with her foreclaws settled between her hind; and her head is turned to the left a bit enough to let a lightly colored blue eye show; and is then highlighted in a the same light blue as her eyes. The one on the left nearly mirrors the one on the right only it is a dragon, or once more so she says: a dark blue in color that if one didn’t know better would think is the same color as the first one; his wings are spread slightly just enough to be seen; his tail is turned up to where the tip touches the leading edge of his left wing; he looks like a sitting canine with his foreclaws settled between his hind; and his head is turned to the right a bit enough to let a lightly colored green eye show; and is then highlighted in the same light green as his eyes. If you ever ask her she will tell you both hurt worse then the cold of *between* but that she would endure it again for the results that she got.

Her usual dress consists of hide vests and pants in varying shades of lighter blues and greens, along with a blue or green hide belt, her boots that come to about her mid-calf and are usually blue-unless they are her good pair-in color to match her wonderful Coruth, and a basic brown sheath which hold her belt knife.

Personality: Opafergon is rather openly bisexual, and is probably rather lucky she was Weyr born rather then Hold or Hall born. Even early in life she has always been more boyish in nature, and is now the protective butch type of person for while she is bisexual she is usually more into women then men.

She is rather protective of her friends and gets into fights quite often over supposed sights she might have seen others commit against these friends, and this can sometimes make her unreliable-or undiplomatic-as she might think a friend is insulted and behave against dragonrider code which despite the fact she is only a candidate she tries to live by, or not end up completing her chore.

She has a large amount of muscle to her, and it can be rather intimidating at time, and her walk often sets her apart. Between her shear size-at least for a woman-, her confidence, her walk, and her attitude she has few friends, which can actually be a benefit as it does curb her fighting for her friends.

She has no problems what so ever with her sexuality and this also caused her a few problems growing up. Who wants to be friends with some girl who likes other girls? Because while it is excepted in a Weyr, children can and will be cruel and this caused her several friends and a good many fights.

She fights to much, but she is trying to curb it as has nearly go her thrown from candidacy several times. Basically everything, she is only barley good at her craft even and it took a good bit of pity for them to even promote her to a Senior Apprentice.

She had become good at getting her licks in in a fight. She hardly feels pain, at least like is normal for feeling pain. After so many fights, cuts, and even her tattoos she has become resistant to it and while it is there it doesn’t slow her down it just tells her she had been hit.

History: Opafergon was born from a brief fling between her mother and father. It was more of a lust relationship then one of love, and didn’t last long especially after Hergon became pregnant. Opafen tried to insist she abort the child, but Hergon refused saying that she was hold bread and did not believe in doing such things; and so it was that the relationship was ended.

Opafergon was all but rejected by her mother after her birth, and was fostered just as quickly as the harper could manage it, she had never really wanted children and had only kept her because of her hold bound ways. Her foster mother was not too much more loving of her then her birth mother had been, but it only reinforced her naturally boyish nature. When she was four turns old she was chasing after a hatchling tunnelsnake, and managed to beam herself on the head on the edge of a table. The wound bled for a good time, but even as the healer put in the needed four or five stitches she didn’t even flinch, and as soon as the healer let Yaairsa take her from the infirmary she was again away from the hated woman who tried to control her and didn’t really want her anyways.

The turns passed and this was how things continued for Opafergon, being by her self having very few if any friends, and being the foster child of a woman who had no use nor need for her. As her 10th birthing day approached things /seamed/ to get a bit better for her when her foster mother said she was allowed into her shop, but they didn’t. All she did in the tanner shop was move things around like some grunt, or a drudge who could do nothing better.

Two turns of this Opafergon suffered under, growing to hate the women who called themselves her mother and foster mother. And then on the day of her 12th birthing day she chose to leave the weyr and become a harper. She hitched a ride to the hall, and quickly became an apprentice. Though being a harper was /not/ all it was cracked up to be, and after only 7 months she was sent packing back to Igen-though she of course didn’t realize it was mainly because she was a child of the riders who were the cause for the disease-a failed apprentice. Upon her return she took a different path, and quickly took her right to stand for the next clutch on the sands.

She walked of the burning sands her first time with nothing to show for it but a red face from the heat. Later that turn she moved to Southern Weyr as the Weyrs combined due to lack of numbers. Turns passed after that and it wasn’t until her fifteenth turn that she finally decided that she couldn’t do it anymore. Being a candidate was all well and good, but she had to have something else too. She wasn’t good at anything though was the problem and so she was stuck. Until a journey into the Weyr’s forge one day, not all of them made small or default things and so she asked to apprentice.

This time she didn’t fail, but she has progressed very slowly. Between being a candidate and just not picking up on things very fast it took her four turns to even become a senior apprentice. In the mean time though she was one of the people present at the nonhatching of the golden egg. While she was saddened about that she was also annoyed that she couldn’t be one of the girls to impress anyways. She managed to stay annoyed at that for a couple months grumbling every time she passed one of the girl’s who impress, but like at every other hatching she got over it.

Two turns later found her out of the Weyr on a trip to a small hold with some goods when the earth shakes hit. Luckily she was only a day’s walk from the Weyr, but the site that greeted her was horrible. Southern was a pile of rubble. Saddened that her home was now gone she made her way back to find every one she knew dead. She grieved for them silently, never once crying.
