Eldran's destination was one of the back rooms, which bore a current value as the room served as a meeting place for a secret conference. 'twas there the scourges of the forest, from regions north and south, for reasons known only to each attendant, had met. None could have been more beyond her place there than Leanna, the mediator. Her place 'mongst the noted brigands was well within character, however, since her father, Ianor, the wealthy dwarf copper merchant, had maintained an acquaintance with a few of those present. The reasons which belie such 'acquaintances' remain as a matter suspect 'pon themselves, and 'twas certain that he had precious few rivals in that region of the forest. Leanna, unique 'mongst her kind, was the lingering source of sanity among her fellow Nom- ans. Long has she seen the endless bickering and wars 'mongst the warlords of her homeland, which oft involved the suffering of the innocent. Through her influence, she had managed to engage several such warlords in meetings, which, after time, promises and treaties were broken and the bloodshed continued. |
