Laura Carkner was born December 8th 2001, her journey into this world was a never ending struggle. From the moment she was born until her death she brightened up the lives of everyone around her. Even though the doctors had given her only a limited amount of time on earth, this beautiful angel taught more people in her short time than most people do if they lived to be a hundred.

When she was born she was given days even a week to live. Every time the doctors said one thing she repeatedly proved them wrong. Every medical problem she had she faced with beauty and grace that only an innocent child could. Even though she was told that she would never hear or see, let alone speak she worked hard with both her parents and others daily to strive for something more than what she was being given. She could hear, she could see. She could understand more than anything any of us realize.

Through it all she never gave up. Her strength was felt by everyone who was lucky enough to know and love her. Through her never ending efforts she taught her family, her friends and even medical staff that nothing is impossible. Everything even if it is limited can be reached if you only try. She is one earthly angel who was returned to God way too soon. For those of us who knew her we were truly blessed. For those who were not privilaged enough to have met her, take a moment and think about those in your life and remember a never ending love and smile.
