The Process

  1. You and your two team members will have to conduct a thorough investigation of each artist to determine if they could be the artist of the mystery painting.
  2. You will use the list of websites provided to research a wide range of art from each artist to gain a solid understanding of their particular style and artistic m0vement. (See list below)

  1. Be sure to take notes on each artist as you do your research! You should include relevant biography details, the artist's most popular style(s), the artistic movement and dates, and selective images (at least 3) that you feel validate your reason why this could be the mystery artist. Give a brief reason for each work you select.
  2. Your team will divide up the work, with each teammember researching 2 artists. Then you will share with your group your findings. Remember, teamwork is very important!
  3. After your team has done a thorough amount of research and chosen an artist, you must come up with sufficient evidence that proves your case. You will have to present this information using the format below.

Artist Research Form

  1. Once all of the teams have finished researching, each team will present their theory to the class. In the presentation, your team will discuss the artist that you have chosen and the significant reasons why. You will also share the images that you have found that help to prove your case.
  2. During the presentations, the teacher will act as a "judge" and the rest of the class will be the "jury". Finally, the judge and jury will decide on who's arguement for their artist was most convincing with the evidence provided.
