Protest singers played only a small part in the antiwar and civil rights movements. Important individuals and groups, political leaders, and the media played much larger roles in both movements. Protest singers did play a role by singing about events happening and writing songs set against the war or for racial equality. Protest singers also attracted people to rallies and protests but they didn't play the largest role.
