Welcome to the new and improved Kaps 4 Karing website! We are glad that you found us. We are a grassroots charity located in San Antonio, Texas and we began our work in December of 2002. We have grown to include a great bunch of ladies nationwide, and we now accept/send Kap requests on an international basis.

Kaps 4 Karing is a group founded by Nancy Overland in December of 2002--as a way to honor God and the memories of Oscar Overland and Sally Witzke. Both of these wonderful people lost their battle with cancer. Kaps 4 Karing had a goal of giving something back to the community and started out as a small localized group.
We have grown by leaps and bounds and are a great group of ladies who make caps and lap quilts for chemotherapy patients and all sorts of baby items for local community hospitals. We also have grown to the point that we are now taking international requests to help people. We would love to have you join our group and share your talents with others.
Most chemotherapy patients lose their hair as a result of their treatments and they often feel self conscious when in public. They also lose a great deal of body heat through their heads. The caps that we provide are a way to boost their self confidence and self esteem and give them a tangible reminder that someone cares about them. The lap quilts are donated to help keep their legs warm during treatments.
The baby items are donated to local community hospitals to help show love and support to the families of premature babies and critically ill children.
All caps, lap quilts and baby items are provided free of charge to recipients. We gladly take donations, but we NEVER solicit money from recipients--even international requests are sent postage paid.
If you would like to request a kap, please send me an email at kaps_4_karing-owner AT yahoogroups DOT com (no spaces when you type this in) with the mailing information and color preferences for your kap recipient and I will pass this information on to our Kaps Krew. Be assured that neither you or your recipient's information will be given to *anyone* other than the Kaps Krew. We ABSOLUTELY DO NOT sell or give away your information, and we will NEVER EVER request money from you or the recipient.
