Week 6 - Lab
Chapter Ten
Pages 178-184
Create an image 500x500 pixels etc. (make sure you use 16 million colors)
Change the background to black
Select a shape - ellipse with a feathering of 5
Draw the ellipse and fill with the color white
Create a new mask layer from image
Promote the background layer to a full layer
Save the image as a mask (use the Load/Save Mask option under the Layers menu)
Save the mask as ellipse
Close the image
Pages 184-186
Open the fountain image
Promote the background layer
Apply the ellipse mask
Orientation - Fit to canvas
Options - Hide all mask
Save the image as founmask.gif
Upload the image to your web site to the images directory
Pages 187-190
Open the
sunset_sky.jpg
image found in the PaintShop samples directory
Create a new raster layer named mask
Apply a foreground color to this layer
Select the Load/Save Mask option under the Layers menu
Apply any of the masks listed
Note: You may not need to invert the mask
Save the image as skymask.jpg
Upload both of the images to your web site to the images directory
Web Page
Create a web page using Netscape Composer or Microsoft FrontPage
Change the background to any color other than white
Create a title for the page
Insert all the images created above with a caption
Save the page as wk6lab.htm
Upload the page to your web site to lab directory
Submit the URL to your new page
NOTE: You may have to adjust the links for the graphics once the page is uploaded.
