Additional Tips and Tricks
Blend Modes
Open an image either from a digital camera or a scanner
Duplicate the background layer
Set the Blend Mode to Overlay on the duplicate layer
Adjust the layer transparency between 20 and 40 percent
Save the image as blendover.jpg
Upload the image to your web site to the images directory
Soft Focus
Open an image either from a digital camera or a scanner
Duplicate the background layer
Select the Adjust option to adjust the brightness to 35 and the contrast to 20
Select the Adjust option to apply the Gaussian Blur and set the radius to 4
Reduce the layer opacity to 50% for the duplicate background
Save the image as focus.jpg
Upload the image to your web site to the images directory
Crooked Photos
Open an Straighten.jpg from PaintShop Pro's sample images folder
Upload the image to your web site to the images directory
Select the Straighten Tool
Adjust the guideline along the axis you wish to straighten by dragging the ends or by entering a value in the Angle numeric edit control
Click Apply
Save the image as straightnow.jpg
Upload the image to your web site to the images directory
Web Page
Create a web page using Netscape Composer or Microsoft FrontPage
Change the background to any color other than white
Create a title for the page
Insert all the images (include the original graphics) created above with a caption of before and after
Save the page as wk14lab.htm
Upload the page to your web site to lab directory
Submit the URL to your new page
NOTE: You may have to adjust the links for the graphics once the page is uploaded.
