On April 18, 2006 Sidney Crosby Became the youngest player get 100 points beating Dale
Hawerchuk who held the record by reaching 100points at the age of 18 and 354 days in 1982,
Crosby beat it by 109 days.“Everybody has been buzzing about it lately once he got in reach,” said
fellow rookie and linemate Colby Armstrong. “It’s something that I didn’t have any doubts about it.
If he wanted to do it, he could do it. It’s something you don’t like to talk about and you want to keep
it off your mind as much as possible so you’re not forcing things, but he does that pretty well as you
can tell. “He did a great job, stayed focused and just played his game and made great things happen
[Monday night]. That’s the story of his year. Personally, for him – what a year,” he continued. “I
don’t know, 100 points as an 18-year-old – I was still playing junior [hockey] and battling out 72
games and had like 70 points or something, which is not that great. “This kid is doing something
that not too many people could even imagine or dream of.” On top of that he broke Mario
Lemieux's Penguin's rookie record of 100 points in a season all in one night.

"We are excited to be able to kick-off the 2006 NFL season with a nationally televised primetime game at Heinz Field," said Steelers president Art Rooney. "It will be the ideal setting for our fans in Pittsburgh and around the world to watch as we begin our defense of the Super Bowl championship."
Pittsburgh's remaining home schedule includes a Week 3 match-up against defending AFC North champion Cincinnati Bengals (Sept. 24). The Kansas City Chiefs will visit Pittsburgh for the first time since 1989 when they play at Heinz Field on Oct. 15. On Dec. 3, Pittsburgh will host the NFC South champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Steelers will close out their home schedule on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Steelers' remaining road schedule includes trips to play the Atlanta Falcons (Oct. 22) and Oakland Raiders (Oct. 29) in consecutive weeks, and consecutive road games against division rivals Cleveland (Nov. 19) and Baltimore (Nov. 26). Pittsburgh's final two road games will take place Dec. 17 at Carolina and Dec. 31 at Cincinnati.
All Sunday afternoon games during Weeks 10-15 and Week 17 are subject to flexible scheduling and could be moved into the Sunday night time slot (8:15 p.m.).
