The Wright Brothers were american airplane inventors. The bothers were Orville Wright born in 1871 and his brother Wilbur Wright born in 1867. The Wright Brothers were astounded by the German engineer Otto Lilienthal's glider flights. While designing the glider Orville designed an engine. On December 17, 1903, they made the first controlled sustained flights in a powerdriven airplane.
